Final rules to be published by 21st December, following consultation
UK regulator, Ofcom, has proposed a series of measures implementing protections for consumers under the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC), reports Telegeography. Having left the EU, the UK is obliged to implement the EECC before the transition period ends on the 31st December 2020. Elements include a ban on mobile providers from selling locked devices, measures to enable easier broadband switching, better contract information and stronger rights to exit. The regulator is also inviting responses to a consultation on definitions and terminology by 30th November. The paper can be viewed here.
